Beyond Bars was launched in 2025 by Capital Region Crime Stoppers addressing rising numbers in youth victims and offenders of crime. Vetted trustees, Desmond and Rashawn, share their personal stories of life impacting decisions that led to their incarcerations.

Each session is around 1 hour in length. It covers personal testimonies, Q&A and discussions with Desmond and Rashawn on real life experiences. Lt. Don Coppola discusses how Capital Region Crime Stoppers works and how to report crimes anonymously.

The Beyond Bars Presentation is aimed for middle / high school aged students, but is not limited to a certain age. Our mission is to reach as many schools, communities and youth groups as possible.
